validate - The critical test
This phase concentrates on the validation of the new user interface as regards its usability and safety. The individual design variants are tested and evaluated separately or in comparison with each other by future users, e.g. clinical staff, patients or nursing staff.
Usability tests...
The usability of the prototype can be tested by various methods and combination of methods. Our range of services includes for example usability tests, i.e. the observation of users when using the product in the usability test lab or in real life, and expert reviews such as a heuristic evaluation. By means of video analysis, research guide-based interviews, surveys on the perceived attractiveness of the product, not only objective obstacles of use and preferred methods of work of the users, but also subjective assessments and perceptions are collected. Quantitative data such as the time needed to solve a task complete the results gained by these tests.
...and the validation of identified risks of use
The risk of use identified in the usability tests are compared with the risk analysis conducted before. In case risks are revealed that originate from the latest prepared interaction and design concepts, the design process is reviewed again. Medical Safety Design makes a conscious effort to realize rapid prototyping taking safety-relevant requirements into consideration.
